$6.3 Million in State Grants Awarded in Worcester County
REVERE – Governor Maura Healey, and other administration officials, were in Revere today to announce a $164 million grant package set to benefit 161 communities statewide through the Community One Stop for Growth initiative. Mass State Senate Passes Bill to Require Pay Transparency
BOSTON – The Massachusetts State Senate passed the “Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act” on Thursday, which seeks to address pay inequities through requiring salary ranges for positions are disclosed and new mandatory reporting for some employers. President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed Perkins as Secretary of Labor in 1933, a role in which she served in until 1945. She was the first woman appointed to presidential cabinet in the United States.
Two Men Arrested for Breaking and Entering on Main Street in September
WORCESTER – Two men were arrested on Thursday for a break in reported on Main Street in September, after an investigation by the Worcester Police Detective Bureau. WORCESTER – An officer on patrol on Thursday morning saw a man walking through an area not open to the public at Union Station, leading to his arrest on larceny charges. The man, Nathaniel Gaye, 29, of Boston, was dressed as a construction worker and carrying a Worcester Police bicycle when the officer spotted him.
