28-Year-Old Man Arrested for Robbery in Worcester
WORCESTER – Police arrested a local man overnight after a robbery that led to a store clerk being punched several times. Police responded to a report of an unarmed robbery at 7-Eleven, at 409 Park Ave., at around 12:30 AM on Thursday, October 26. After arriving at the scene and questioning witnessed, officers learned that a man entered the store and began shoplifting. An altercation occurred, and the man allegedly punched the clerk several times in the face, then fled on foot.

Gardner Man Wanted for Questioning in Woman’s Death
GARDNER – Police are asking for help from the public in the search for a man wanted for questioning in a death on Sunday and may be armed. The Massachusetts State Police and Gardner Police seek Aaron Pennington, 33, of Gardner, in connection with a death inside a Cherry Street home. Police responded to the residence in response to a call at around 9 AM on Sunday. Police located the body of a woman inside the home. The investigation into the woman’s death is ongoing.

Mass State Senate Passes Bill to Require Pay Transparency
BOSTON – The Massachusetts State Senate passed the “Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act” on Thursday, which seeks to address pay inequities through requiring salary ranges for positions are disclosed and new mandatory reporting for some employers. President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed Perkins as Secretary of Labor in 1933, a role in which she served in until 1945. She was the first woman appointed to presidential cabinet in the United States.
Community Meeting on Clark University Proposal in Main South
WORCESTER – A community meeting hosted by the Main South Community Development Corporation will discuss a proposal by Clark university to build a 6-story mixed use space. The university’s proposal would demolish properties from Woodland Street to Downing Street. The six-story building will include residential and commercial space.
