Mass. Emergency Shelters to Reach Capacity in October
BOSTON – Governor Maura Healey announced today that the emergency shelter system for families without housing will reach capacity by the end of October. According to Healey, the state will not be able to expand its capacity to provide emergency shelter to more than 7,500 families, or more than 24,000 individuals. Worcester Man Sentenced to Federal Prison on Firearm Charge
SPRINGFIELD – A Springfield judge sentenced a local man to over six years in federal prison on a firearms charge today. Lawrence Rutherford, 42,, of Worcester, received a sentence of 78 months in prison after pleading guilty in March 2003 to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
