WPD: Woman Damages Man’s Car after He Declines Charges
WORCESTER – A local woman faces Larceny, Vandalism, and other charges after being arrested for a confrontation with a man on Saturday, March 30. According to the Worcester Police Department, Carmen Ortiz, 29, of Worcester, approached a customer at McDonald’s on Shrewsbury Street at around 6:45 PM. After the man declined, Ortiz stormed out of the restaurant, swearing at the man.

City of Worcester Payroll Over Half-Billion Dollars in 2023
WORCESTER – The City of Worcester released the salary and income of all city employees for 2023 this week, showing 69 city employees earning over $200,000, 61 of them part of the Worcester Police Department. The city lists 8,017 employees earning over $523 million, 55 more employees than last year, and a 9.3 percent increase in payroll, from $487 million in 2022.
Leominster Man Indicted for Murder in July Stabbing
WORCESTER – A Worcester County Grand Jury indicted a man for murder in a fatal stabbing in Fitchburg. Jeremy Cruz, 37, of Leominster, allegedly stabbed Jesus Maisonet Davila, 45, of Fitchburg on July 1, shortly before 1 PM, near 199 Main St. in Fitchburg. Davila was hospitalized until his death on Aug. 6.
