A shocking assault at Dublin High School has landed a student in the hospital, according to a press release from the Dublin Police.

The police say that a 15-year-old male student was assaulted at Dublin High School on Friday, August 23, 2024, around 3:30 p.m. Dublin Police Services responded to the scene after receiving reports of a fight on campus.

According to police, the incident began when the victim was confronted by a Dublin High School parent, leading him to retreat into the boys' locker room.

He was followed by four unknown individuals wearing hoodies and the parent, who then reportedly assaulted the victim. The group fled the area after the altercation.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries to his face and head. He has since been released.

The suspects are described as being approximately 16 to 19 years old. Police believe this was not a random incident and are working to determine a motive and the relationship between the parties involved.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Dublin Police Services at (925) 833-6670.

It's a shocking incident, especially since an adult appears to have been involved in the assault on a minor.
