Two people and a dog were shot on Sunday afternoon in the Tenderloin neighborhood, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The incident occurred around 4:09 p.m. on Willow Street, between Van Ness Avenue and Polk Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two individuals and a dog suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. It was not immediately clear if the people were the owners of the dog, but they are presumed to be.

Police provided aid before the victims were transported to a hospital. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, authorities said that officers detained a vehicle matching a witness description, stopping it on Polk Street. A female driver and male passenger were arrested and booked into county jail, though their identities have not been released.

The dog, an adult male pitbull, was shot twice and is in stable condition, according to a city Animal Control spokesperson. The dog is being cared for at an Animal Control facility.

    The investigation is ongoing.
