Mountain View, CA — Kunjip Tofu, a new Korean restaurant located at 1962 W El Camino Real, is currently in its soft opening phase, with a grand opening planned in the coming weeks. The restaurant is gaining attention for its traditional Korean offerings, ranging from grilled meats to tofu soups.

It looks super fancy and upscale--both the food and the decor!

The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, with a focus on Korean BBQ and braised stews. Some of the standout options include Wagyu Galbi, a soy sauce-based marinated wagyu short rib priced at $55, and Black Cod Jorim, a stewed black cod in soy sauce base for $52.

Yes, you read those prices right--this is a fancy place, and it's in Mountain View. Go there the next time a VC decides to fund your early stage AI company.

There are also multiple tofu soup options, including seafood, wagyu, and mushroom, all priced at $35. The restaurant’s bibimbap, a mixed rice dish with 10 seasoned vegetables and various protein options like Wagyu Bulgogi and Alaskan Snow Crab, is offered at $38.

During the soft opening, walk-ins are welcome, and the restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m, according to our sources (you may want to check by calling them at (650) 282-5195).

The establishment has already garnered positive reviews for its service and atmosphere. Sara Y., a recent customer from San Jose, remarked on the attention to detail in an online review. "The service was great! They were all very attentive, and I liked how they described each dish while serving it to you," she said.

Sara also commented on the tofu and soondubu (soft tofu stew), noting, "The soondubu was just alright. $35 for soondubu is crazy, but it was probably because of the wagyu brisket."

While the full menu is still being tested, customers seem eager for the official opening and to see how the menu develops.
