Notre Dame Head Coach Marcus Freeman’s ESPN Schedule This Week
Notre Dame football is headed to New York this week to do the media rounds. Notre Dame does this traditionally and during the media takeover last year, was able to catch part of a New York Mets game with none other than Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton. Marcus Freeman will be part of this annual media blitz as he heads just outside of the Big Apple to Bristol, Conn. to do the traditional “car wash” at the ESPN studios. All these ideas and more emerged from a meeting at Thornton Wilder Hall at Miller Library in Hamden, held by Six Lakes Park Coalition, as the coalition invited the public to submit input on what a future state park in the middle of Hamden might look like, and how it might best serve the community around it.
HRA Welcomes Donation from New Britain Youth Leads for Local Food Center
Youth leaders from New Britain Youth Leads donated money they had fundraised to HRA of New Britain’s New Britain Food Resource Center. The donation of $225 was presented by Youth Leads to HRA at the Food Resource Center’s Farmington Avenue location, HRA said, “to recognize the Food Resource Center’s efforts to provide food to thousands of New Britain residents each year who otherwise cannot access enough for their families.” The donation was presented to HRA on a ceremonial “big check.”
