All Fresh Silking Corn Remains on Spray Intervals Prevent Infestation. Pest pressure was lower in most fields this week, as cooler nights and changing weather patterns slowed moth activity. However, counts remain high enough to require regular spray intervals in fields with fresh silks. Harvest continues in full swing as many later varieties have matured earlier than expected due to the hot weather. Early harvested fields are now being plowed down and seeded with cover crops.

NFR Maine was live in our studio with not one, not two, not three, not four but FIVE adorable Chiweenie/Aussie mix puppies. State Rule Changes Threaten Medical Cannabis Providers
Vetted Cannabis is one of the medical offices affected by a state rules change. Rule changes made by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy could seriously impact the operations of several medical cannabis caregivers here. Sanford’s zoning ordinance currently allows for a medical cannabis cultivator to have an office where they prescribe and sell product directly to their patients. Before that provision was created, medical providers in town had to meet their patients in a public place to deliver cannabis to them.

Selectmen Aug. 20 supported ordinance changes Town Manager Dennis Simmons said would meet the Wiscasset Municipal Airport Advisory Committee’s goal of voting privileges for longtime member Steve Williams of Georgetown.

MAINE, USA — Snowy and Moses are in foster care through Lucky Pup Rescue Maine, and are hoping to find a new forever home soon. According to the rescue organization, Snowy had been attacked by a bigger dog which permanently injured her back; in turn, she sometimes loses control of her bladder when excited or playing. While she has adorable incontinence pants, Snowy is still able to walk around, and even run with joy.
AP announces 3 new content collaborations with nonprofit newsrooms
The Associated Press today announced three new content sharing agreements with U.S. nonprofit news newsrooms: Deep South Today, The Maine Monitor and The Nevada Independent. The new content collaborations follow arrangements AP announced in May with CalMatters, Honolulu Civil Beat, Montana Free Press, Nebraska Journalism Trust and South Dakota News Watch, along with a content sharing arrangement between AP and The Texas Tribune announced in March.

Memorial service held for missing Houlton pilot
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Maine Army National Guard held a memorial service earlier on Saturday at the Maine Air Musueum to honor the life of Houlton pilot Billy Hogan. Billy Hogan was 28 years old when he disappeared during a flight from Danbury, Connecticut to Houlton, Maine in May of 1972.
