Man, 3 juveniles arrested after Thomasville man’s shooting death: Clarke County Sheriff’s Office

THOMASVILLE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A man and three juveniles were arrested in connection with a homicide that happened over the weekend, according to the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.

20-year-old Santaevius McWilliams and the juveniles were arrested after Esaw Wood’s body was found on Monday, July 1.

CCSO deputies were called on Sunday, June 30, for a welfare check on Wood at his home on Pleasant Hill Road.

When they arrived, deputies found a trail of blood and drag marks leading from the home to where it is believed Wood’s vehicle had been parked near the house, according to officials.

Deputies said Wood’s vehicle was missing, so they put out a nationwide “Be On the Lookout” notice for the vehicle.

Sheriff DeWayne Smith said with the help of other agencies, including the Mobile County and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Offices, they were able to locate the vehicle Monday morning about 10 miles from Wood’s home.

Wood’s body was not with the vehicle; however, deputies did find Wood’s body in a different area on Monday evening.

Smith told News 5 that they believe Wood was shot and killed late Friday evening, June 28.
