International Paper grants $100,000 to McRae-Gaines Learning Center
The International Paper Foundation and Riverdale Mill has awarded a $100,000 check to the McRae-Gaines Learning Center in Selma for a capital project. “We’re very proud to be able to award this support to McRae-Gaines, an organization dedicated to the education of Selma’s children for many years,” said Riverdale Mill Manager Mike Closson.

WCCS to host Regional Wellness Day on Sept. 7
Wallace Community College Selma (WCCS) will host Regional Wellness Day on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will offer wellness screenings, including breast mammograms (free for those uninsured), cervical exams, prostate exams (blood work), primary care referrals (available on site for colorectal and lung screening), biometric screenings (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar), and more.
Zion Chapel hosts Ellwood Christian this Friday
