    Thomasville man accused of hitting woman, running from police, warrants say

    DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A Thomasville man is facing a felony charge after allegedly hitting a woman and attempting to evade the police afterward, according to warrants out of Davidson County,

    Jonathan Michael Welborn, 32, of Thomasville, is accused in the warrant of punching a woman in the head and “stomping on her foot.”

    He is also accused of attempting in the warrant of attempting to elude a Thomasville police officer who was investigating the alleged assault by “speeding in excess of 15 mph” in the area of Fisher Ferry Street and Westwood Avenue. His license was also allegedly revoked during this time.

    Lastly, warrants accuse Welborn of breaking a television belonging to the victim and stealing her Apple watch.

    He is being charged with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property.
