According to a release, police responded to Brandy Hill Road at around 11:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a man wandering through backyards in the neighborhood.

As they were responding, it was reported that the man could have possibly entered one of the houses through a basement window.

A K9 dog was able to trace the man’s scent to a house on the road. Christopher Sargent, 36, was found hiding behind the washing machine in a small room in the basement of the house, police say.

He is facing charges of burglary, narcotics and trespassing as a result.
