AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Most of us should get to enjoy one more dry day Sunday before an upper level system passing by to our north increases moisture over the region bringing a good chance of rain to start the work week. After a couple of potentially wet days Monday and Tuesday, hotter than average temperatures with lower than average rain chances can be expected Wednesday through Friday, when highs will likely soar into the middle to upper 90s with heat index values in excess of 105 degrees by Thursday and Friday. A slight cooldown with a better chance of afternoon storms returns for the weekend.

All Newton Schools Students to Get Free Breakfast and Lunch
COVINGTON — Newton County Schools has announced that all schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision for the school year 2024-25. During the previous two school years, 17 of the district’s 23 schools participated in the CEP. The CEP is part of the federally funded National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. The participation of all schools in CEP ensures that all enrolled students can participate in the breakfast and lunch program at no charge. No application is required to participate in the program.
