College football kicks off amid weekend thunderstorms, with Labor Day bringing cooler air
(WSET) — College Football starts this weekend, and we also have thunderstorm chances—but the weekend is not a “washout.”. I’ve lowered rain chances for the weekend, but we’ll see thunderstorms for Saturday and Sunday afternoon/evening. A Labor Day cold front provides pleasant weather next week!
Henrico supervisors approve subsidized housing project in Eastern Henrico, $27 million in other projects
The Henrico Board of Supervisors approved a $625,000 grant in support of an affordable housing project in Eastern Henrico at its most recent meeting Aug. 27. Project:HOMES, a Richmond-based nonprofit, will buy 5910 and 5920 Nine Mile Road in the Varina District and build a subdivision of at least 22 affordable homes there. The homes will be limited to qualified purchasers who make no more than 120% of the median income for the Richmond area (currently $58,988, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.)
