Child suffers minor injuries in fall at Glen
WAVERLY — A five-year-old Waverly boy was fortunate to suffer only minor injuries Thursday after a fall near the waterfall at Waverly Glen Park. According to Waverly Police, at 10:44 a.m. officers responded to a report of a child who had fallen 30 feet from the area of the waterfall at the park. Also responded to the scene were personnel from the Waverly-Barton Fire District and Greater Valley EMS.

MCT announces quarterly earnings
The Board of Directors of Mauch Chunk Trust Financial Corp. have released earnings results for the corporation for the period ended June 30. Net income for the three months ended June 30, was $253,000, $670,000 lower than the same period in 2023. On a per share basis, net income was 8 cents this year versus 28 cents last year.
