Scranton Tomorrow wraps up Summer of Scranton with Dog Days event on Biden Street
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Saturday, Scranton Tomorrow's Summer of Scranton will be wrapping up with the Dog Days of Summer event. From 10am-4pm, Biden Street and Adams Avenue will have a variety of different small businesses, including Northern Light Espresso Bar, offering deals, sidewalk sales, and special products for dogs during the event.

Thousands are expected for the highly anticipated four day event. More than 40 years ago, Pittston Community Leaders and local gardeners collaborated to create this unique event which features delicious food such as homemade ravioli, eggplant rollatini, pizza, sausage and peppers, tripe, bruschetta, chicken scampi, cannoli and gelato. Live entertainment, a parade, an annual Tomato contest, spaghetti eating contest, 5K run and arts and crafts are also a big part of the festival. A Little Miss and Little Mr. Tomato contest is also held for children ages 2-6. The 5K run takes place on August 18 at 8 a.m. The 3.1 mile course includes downtown Pittston, the Fort Jenkins Bridge, West Pittston and the Water Street Bridge.
