    Lightning fire displaces 21 people from Thornton apartments

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — A lightning fire in Thornton on Monday afternoon forced 21 people out of their homes.

    The Thornton Fire Department posted just before 4 p.m. that it was responding to the fire at an apartment complex at 3351 E. 120th Avenue. They said no injuries were reported, but eight apartments suffered damage from the lightning-caused fire.

    Apartment management was placing the 21 displaced people into hotels, according to Thornton Fire.

    The scene was cleared just before 6 p.m. The North Metro, Westminster, South Adams County and Adams County fire departments were assisting.
