Nineteen senior citizens and two children gathered Thursday for lunch and to play bingo. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal, playing bingo, and visiting together. Those present were Janice Bilbrey, Ann Brown, Pam Harlan, Jo Ann Archer, Elaine Hairgrove, Doug Podell, Doris Lemley, Beverly King, Shari Werner, Sheryl Davis, Lorene Stembridge, Gayla Gambini, Elizabeth Neason, Elle and Hank Stanscewski and their two grandsons, Alma Stewart, Ernie and Sherry Solis, and Jane Carpenter.
The Center will be closed Thursday, July 4. The lunch menu for Thursday, July 11, will be chicken and dumplings, carrots, cornbread, mixed fruit, and tea or milk. Those planning to attend should inform Janice Bilbrey by noon on Wednesday by calling 254-203-2769.
Bingo was once again called by Elizabeth Neason. Winners included Noah, one of Elle and Hank’s grandsons, Pam Harlan, Shari Werner, Doug Podell, and Doris Lemley, who shared a win. Ann Brown and Jane Carpenter won the blackout game. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to those who donated prizes.
We also thank the Central Baptist Church for providing our meeting place each week and ice for our drinks. Their generous donation allows us to have a nice place for our meetings.
As we celebrate Independence Day, we thank all the soldiers who have fought for our freedom. When you see a soldier, don't hesitate to say, "Thank you for your service."
