The community gathered in support of the Living Proof Early Learning Center on Saturday, June 29, to raise funds for a sunshade over the LPELC playground. The event, held at the Mary Helen Nance Community Center in Thornton, was a heartwarming display of community spirit, with attendees enjoying food, entertainment, and a variety of auction items.
One of the event highlights was a special performance by the children at the center, who showcased their talents through dance and singing under the guidance of Music/Chapel teacher, Kristen Been. Additionally, the teachers at Living Proof Early Learning Center contributed by making and donating delicious desserts.
Many others donated but were not available for mention to Journal staff by the time of press.
During the fundraiser, the young participants had the opportunity to learn interesting facts about the sun and explore Bible verses related to it during their music and chapel sessions. The event encompassed a wide range of age groups, with performances by three-year-olds to the school-age kids attending the summer program.
Raelynne Bell, the Director of Living Proof Early Learning Center, demonstrated her gratitude by presenting a board of thanks that encapsulated the center's appreciation for the community's support.
The fundraiser truly showcased the unity within the community as children, teachers, and Director Bell came together emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the children at Living Proof Early Learning Center.
