What's going to be the toughest position battle at WVU?
What's the most important position battle for West Virginia Football heading into 2024? There will be plenty of them. Available playing time is there at defensive line and linebacker, while the entire cornerback room could be up for grabs with new transfers. The same could be said for wide receiver, where returning contributors will battle new arrivals for catches. But, maybe, the answer is something different. In fact, we argued as much earlier this month when we joined the Summer School show to talk Mountaineer Football. Check out our answer in the video above.

NSO: Game day traditions every WVU fan should know
WVU Athletics has a rich history of traditions in its sporting events. Here are some traditions that every Mountaineer fan should know for game day. The Mountaineer Mantrip is WVU Football’s entrance to Milan Puskar Stadium every home game day. Two hours and 20 minutes before kickoff, the football team walks from the corner of WVU Medical Center Drive and Don Nehlen Drive, where the team buses drop the players off at the entrance of the stadium.
Hot and sunny holiday weekend, more rain next week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - The stalling cold front that’s been responsible for the past few days of rain and storms will finally make its way out of our region by Saturday morning, but not before dropping a bit more rain and thunderstorm activity on us Friday night. Thunderstorms could wield heavy rain and gusty winds, but mostly in isolated cases. Some patchy fog is likely Saturday morning before giving way to a mostly sunny afternoon with highs in the mid-upper 80s lowlands, upper 70s mountains. Sunday will be similar, though with temperatures kicked up a few degrees. Both days will have a UV index of 10, so if you plan to be outdoors, apply sunscreen frequently, stay hydrated, and take breaks from direct sun exposure. Kicking off the next work week, temps will climb a few more degrees, but our chance of convective showers will be on the rise, especially in the mountains, so it may not be a totally dry day. Humidity will be increasing as well. Rain and thunderstorms will become more apparent area-wide by Tuesday, and will likely stick around for the remainder of the week. This will bring temperatures back to the mid-upper 80s rather than the 90s, but humidity could still make it feel like the 90s.
Art studio brings Shark Week to the local area
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Shark Week has become known as an annual week long programming block on the Discovery Channel; that explores all of cool, unique things that make our cold-blooded friends who they are. A lot has changed since the week long tv block first aired in 1988, but the anticipation and excitement for the week every July seems to grow every year. While Sharks might not necessarily be a common thing to find in the Mountain State, one local art studio is still helping local shark enthusiasts by meeting their needs. The Wow Factory located in Star City has been a staple local art studio in the Morgantown area for over a decade. Studio Manager, Monica McGraw, saw the opportunity that next week presented to do something unique and jumped at it.

Article Courtesy of Jake Stump/West Virginia University. When Michael Morehead entered West Virginia University’s master’s program in computer science in 2011, his main goal was “survival.” The Bridgeport native’s main motivation was obtaining health insurance to cover medical bills from chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. That’s all he wanted, he admits. But he wound up with much more.
