Whitestown Fogs Main Street Park Thursday To Reduce Insects
The Town of Whitestown issued a notice to the community regarding the closure of Main Street Park on Thursday, July 18 due to the need for insect reduction in the area. The town stated that the Whitestown team will be fogging Main Street Park at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 to reduce the number of insects in the park, which prompted the town to encourage community members to avoid the park overnight.

The Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department officially welcomed four new members to the department team after their dedication to Whitestown throughout the summer months. Crime Scene Investigator Blake Minis began her service with the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department in mid-June and has taken over her role as former Crime Scene Investigator Annie Greene starts a new role as an Intel Analyst. According to the department, Minis has swiftly transitioned into the role by organizing and inventorying the property room while also actively working on cases.

Congratulations are due to several teams of local high school volleyballers, with their teams earning top honors from the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches’ Association, for doing exceptionally well in the classroom last school year, ’23-’24. In our part of the state, those outstanding academic squads include Batesville, Jac-Cen-Del, Oldenburg Academy, South Ripley, and Greensburg. Each of those teams reached a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
