Norther Local names new treasurer

THORNVILLE — Northern Local Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Clifton as the new district treasurer, succeeding Elizabeth Clark-McCarthy. Elizabeth is retiring after 26 years of service to the Northern Local School District.

Jennifer, known to many as Jennie, brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background to the district. Jennie is a proud alumna of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration. She holds a School Treasurer’s license from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and is an active professional member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials.

With 19 years of experience in school finance, Jennie has a proven track record of excellence. For the past 14 years, she has served as the Assistant Treasurer at Grandview Heights Schools. Her outstanding work there was recognized with the State Auditor’s Award for Financial Excellence for nine consecutive years.

Jennie is enthusiastic about her new role at Northern Local Schools. “I am excited to have joined the team at Northern Local Schools,” she shared. “I have a passion for providing the best education experience for students through sound financial processes. I believe in building relationships through trust, providing accurate and timely information, support, and resources to staff. I hope to foster a culture of positivity and collaboration with our staff and community.”

Jennie lives in Glenford with her husband, Jeremy, and their children, Austin and Hayley. The Northern Local Schools community extends a warm welcome to Jennie and looks forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make.
