Time for Biden to quit the race

Just about everybody has been watching our failing President Biden on TV. We all are saddened by his poor health, but as we oldsters know, when you hit 80 the body is worn out.

American cannot operate or defend itself in the world with a weak president, so I think Mr. Biden should quit the race for the presidency. It is a hard choice, but he must think of our country and not his wife Jill, or his reputation. The country must come first.

Either way, President Trump will benefit and that is good for America. His platform will make America great again; close the border and bring back peace. The youth of today lost their opportunities to buy a house and make a decent wage under President Biden, and the open border has destroyed America’s integrity.

Each of us will vote our conscious in November, and who will best lead the greatest nation in the world. And remember, use a little common sense.

    Bike paths need rehabilitation

I am writing to advocate for the county of Ventura to rehabilitate the existing bike paths throughout the county and to establish new bike paths where they currently do not exist. Our county has the potential to become a model of safe, sustainable, and accessible cycling infrastructure, but significant improvements are needed to achieve this vision.

Firstly, the bike paths we currently have require urgent attention. Many cyclists, including myself, suffer constant flat tires when using the 126 due to harsh railroad crossings, potholes, and debris left in the bike lanes.

These conditions not only discourage cycling but also pose severe safety risks. Regular maintenance and timely repairs are essential to ensure that our bike paths are safe and enjoyable for all users.

In addition to rehabilitating the existing paths, it is crucial to establish new bike paths to connect more areas of our county. We need a continuous path that goes from Fillmore to Moorpark and another that connects Moorpark to Simi Valley. These new routes would provide much-needed connectivity, making cycling a viable and attractive option for commuting, recreation, and exercise.

Furthermore, a barrier to prevent cars from crossing into the bike lane is essential. The safety of cyclists should be a top priority, and physical barriers can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and collisions with motor vehicles.

Investing in a robust and well-maintained network of bike paths will benefit our community in numerous ways. It will promote healthier lifestyles, reduce traffic congestion, and decrease our carbon footprint. It will enhance the overall quality of life for residents by providing safe and enjoyable spaces for outdoor activities.

I urge county officials to prioritize the rehabilitation of our current bike paths and the establishment of new ones. By doing so, we can create a safer, healthier, and more connected Ventura County.
