    Ingredients

You only need two ingredients to make Mummy Dogs.

    • 1 package hot dogs (look for nitrate, nitrite-free)
    • 1 package crescent rolls

How to Make Mummy Hot Dogs

When you see how easy Mummy Dogs are to make, they will be come a regular around Halloween. I make them every year along with our Stovetop Chili or Cheeseburger Soup.

    Prep the Hot Dogs

Slice the bottom of a hotdog open to create legs. Now carefully cut each side of the hotdog to make arms. Use a paring knife to do this.

Next, unroll the crescent dough and slice it into thin strips. Again, a sharp paring knife is helpful for this step.

    Wrap the Hot Dogs

Use the crescent roll to wrap up the “body” and “legs” of the hot dog, making sure the “arms” are out and not tucked under the dough. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just be gentle with the dough so it doesn’t rip.

Repeat the process until all of the hot dogs are wrapped.

    Bake the Mummy Dogs

Because we’re using crescent rolls from a can, you will need to look at the baking instructions from the brand you purchased.

The baking instructions tend to vary brand to brand.

Bake according to those instructions or until the mummies are getting brown and crisp. For reference, mine was done in about 12 minutes.
