Clear skies and mild days will persist across Middle Tennessee, with cooler temperatures arriving next week.

Clear Skies and Mild Temperatures Continue, Cold Front Brings 30s Next Week

Nashville — Issued by the National Weather Service at 1:19 AM on October 9, 2024.

Mild Days and Cool Nights for Middle Tennessee This Week

Middle Tennessee is in the midst of some of the most pleasant weather of the season, with clear skies and seasonable temperatures continuing into the next several days. Today’s highs will reach around 80°F with plenty of sunshine, making for ideal fall conditions. Overnight temperatures will drop into the upper 40s to low 50s, ensuring cool, comfortable nights.

Weekend Cold Front to Bring a Significant Drop in Temperatures

A cold front is expected to move through Middle Tennessee on Sunday, bringing a sharp temperature drop of 15-20 degrees by Monday. Highs on Sunday will be in the 80s, but by Monday, temperatures will only reach the 60s, with overnight lows dropping into the upper 30s to 40s. Some areas, particularly the Upper Cumberland, could see temperatures dip as low as 32°F by Wednesday night, potentially bringing the season’s first frost.

Dry Weather Continues, Worsening Drought Conditions

Unfortunately, despite the changing temperatures, rain chances remain slim to none for the next 7-10 days. This prolonged dry spell is likely to worsen drought conditions across the region. The cold front moving in on Sunday is expected to be dry, offering little chance for precipitation.
