The 500 mb low pressure system bringing scattered showers to West Michigan is moving eastward, leading to drier conditions starting today. However, areas near the lakeshore may still see some lake-effect showers today and Tuesday, especially in regions south of Holland and northwest of Muskegon.
Most inland areas will stay dry, with partly cloudy skies developing by Tuesday.
Freeze Warning Tonight
A Freeze Warning is in effect for much of West Michigan from midnight until 9 AM on Tuesday. With light winds and clear skies, temperatures are expected to plummet, potentially impacting any remaining sensitive vegetation. Residents are encouraged to take precautions to protect plants and outdoor items from frost damage. This will be the final frost/freeze alert of the fall season.
Midweek Frosts and Freeze Before Late Week Warmup
Cold temperatures will continue through the middle of the week, with another round of frost possible on Wednesday morning. By Thursday, however, a high-pressure system will bring a warm-up, with temperatures climbing back into the upper 60s to low 70s. This will provide excellent conditions for leaf peeping and outdoor activities as sunny skies are expected through the weekend.
