Unseasonably Warm Weekend in Cleveland—Cold Front and Rain Just Days Away!

Sunny skies and above-average temperatures will persist in Northeast Ohio before a cold front arrives Wednesday, bringing showers and cooler weather.

Cleveland — Issued by the National Weather Service at 3:40 AM EDT on October 19, 2024.

High Pressure Brings Pleasant Fall Weather Across Northeast Ohio

The Cleveland area is set for a beautiful fall weekend as high pressure dominates, delivering clear skies and mild temperatures. Daytime highs will range from the upper 60s to low 70s, with even warmer temperatures in western counties reaching mid-70s by Sunday.

Overnight, clear skies will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 30s to low 40s, with isolated frost possible in low-lying areas. However, the growing season has officially ended for most parts of the region, limiting the need for additional frost warnings.

Above-Average Temperatures to Continue Through Tuesday

The warm trend will carry into Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures rising into the mid to upper 70s, especially in western Ohio. Residents can expect dry conditions during this period, providing an excellent opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities before the weather shifts midweek.

Cold Front Brings Rain and Cooler Weather by Midweek

A cold front will arrive Wednesday afternoon, bringing scattered rain showers and marking the beginning of a cooler weather pattern. High temperatures are expected to drop into the 50s by Thursday and Friday, with isolated lake-effect showers developing along the eastern lakeshore.

    • Wednesday Night: Showers taper off as cooler air settles in.
    • Thursday-Friday: Temperatures will remain in the low 50s, with gusty northwest winds causing wave heights on Lake Erie to reach 4-6 feet east of the islands.
