    Isolated Severe Storms Expected Across Central North Dakota

    BISMARCK — Issued by the National Weather Service at 6:27 AM CDT on August 19, 2024. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of north-central and south-central North Dakota, warning of isolated strong to severe thunderstorms expected to develop late Monday afternoon and into the evening. Areas under the alert include Renville, Ward, Mercer, Oliver, McLean, Morton, Grant, and Sioux counties.

    Storm Threats: Hail and High Winds

    The NWS is forecasting that the primary threats associated with these storms will be hail up to the size of quarters and winds gusting up to 60 mph.
