Thurston County man pleads guilty to sex-crime bust in Longview
An Olympia man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the 2023 Net Nanny sting operation in Longview, which resulted in the arrest of 15 men across Washington state. Justin Michael Gardner, 39, of Olympia, has entered into a plea agreement with Cowlitz County prosecutors. In exchange for pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree rape of a child, he could be sentenced between two years and two months to nearly three years in state prison.

On 6/27/24 at 8:50 a.m. in the 3200 block of Harrison Avenue NW, police arrested Arael Griffin Field-Borodin, 29, on suspicion of an out-of-town misdemeanor warrant.

Experience Olympia & Beyond is excited to announce the official public release of the Thurston County Ten-Year Destination Master Plan (DMP), a Community-Driven Sustainable Tourism Plan, produced by Convention, Sports & Leisure (CSL) International. The project was undertaken in June of 2023 in response to Thurston County’s hospitality and tourism industry which continued to struggle rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic. Thurston County’s need for job creation, economic growth, and resilience in the hospitality and tourism sector was the impetus for the project. The resulting plan provides a multi-faceted blueprint for achieving those initial goals while also providing a glimpse into the wishes and values of Thurston County visitors and locals.
