This timeless magic cookie bar recipe has proven its worth over the years because it's fast, simple, and really tasty.

If you never heard of magic cookie bars and are wondering what they are, here is a quick introduction: Magic Cookie Bars are a delicious, sweet and easy dessert. These bars are made with a graham cracker base and then layered with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, and nuts. The beauty is that you can use any nuts you prefer, these bars work well with walnuts, pecans, or almonds. You can even use a combination of various nuts for this recipe.

    Ingredients:

    • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
    • ½ cup butter - melted but room temperature
    • 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
    • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
    • 1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
    • 1 cup chopped unsalted nuts - pecans, walnuts or almonds

    Step-by-Step Directions:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) or 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) if using a glass dish. Then, coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Step 2: Mix together graham cracker crumbs and butter until well combined. Press the mixture onto the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Step 3: Pour sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker crust, even it out. Sprinkle an even layer of chocolate chips, coconut, and nuts on top, then press the toppings down firmly with a fork.

Step 4: Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Once cooled, cut into 36 bars or diamonds.

    Storing Tips:

    1. To keep your magic cookie bars fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or in the fridge for a week.

    2. You can freeze magic cookie bars by tightly wrapping them in storage wrap and aluminum foil. They can stay frozen for up to three months, just remember to thaw them overnight in the refrigerator.
