Where did the name "Monkey Bread" come from?

Ever wonder why it's called monkey bread? Well, the name comes from how you eat it—pulling off pieces and popping them right into your mouth. I’m not sure who thought to name this tasty treat after monkeys, but one thing's for sure: you should definitely make some soon!

    Ingredients you will need:

    • 3 cans buttermilk biscuits (the non-flaky ones)
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 to 3 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar

    Follow these super-simple steps:

    1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F.
    2. Open all three biscuit cans and chop each into quarters.
    3. Mix white sugar with 2 to 3 teaspoons of cinnamon in a bowl. If you prefer a milder cinnamon taste, stick with 2 teaspoons. Toss this mixture into a 1-gallon zip-top bag and shake it up to combine.
    4. Add all the biscuit quarters into the cinnamon-sugar bag. Seal it up and give it a good shake to ensure everything is coated and separated. Then, spread the coated pieces evenly in a Bundt pan.
    5. Next, melt butter with 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. You can use either light or dark brown sugar. Stir the mixture for a few minutes until it’s well combined and smooth. Once it’s ready, pour it over the biscuits.
    6. Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes until the top is a rich, dark brown. When it’s done, take it out of the oven. If you can resist, let it cool for 15 to 30 minutes before flipping it onto a plate.
