Peach dump cake is such a fun dessert! Ree Drummond says, "I’d make this dump cake any day of the week (and even twice on Sunday!)". It might have one of the least appealing names in the world of peach desserts, but we still adore it.

The name comes from how easy it is: just open some canned peaches and a box of cake mix, toss them into a 9-by-13-inch dish, and bake. It’s super simple! Plus, it’s done in under an hour and tastes amazing with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is one of those easy summer treats you’ll want to have the ingredients for all the time. When you’re in the mood for something peachy, just dump, bake, and dig in!

    Ingredients for this recipe:

    • Nonstick cooking spray
    • 2 15.25 oz. cans of sliced peaches in heavy syrup
    • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    • 3/4 cup salted butter
    • 1 15.25-oz. box yellow cake mix
    • Toasted sliced almonds and vanilla ice cream, for serving

How to make this peach dump cake:

    1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°. Grab a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and give it a quick spray with some nonstick cooking spray. Toss in the peaches along with the syrup from the cans, then add a splash of almond extract. Give it a gentle stir to mix everything together.
    2. Next, cut the butter into 1/2-inch cubes and sprinkle about 1/4 cup of those cubes over the peaches. Now, take the dry cake mix and pour it over the peach mixture, pressing it down to create an even layer with your hands or a spoon. Finally, scatter the rest of the butter cubes on top of the cake mix.
    3. Place it in the oven and bake until the top turns a lovely golden brown and the peach mixture is bubbling, which should take around 45 minutes.
    4. Once it's done, sprinkle some toasted almonds on top and serve it up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you're feeling the mood.

One of the best parts about this cake is that it can be made all year round if you are in the mood for a quick, fruity dessert.
