This recipe is really easy to make. You can have it ready in just about 20 minutes, and it’s way tastier healthier than takeout. Plus, you get to choose exactly what goes into your meal. You can easily double the recipe for a larger crowd or for a quick and easy lunch for the next day!

    Ingredients you will need:

    Chicken

    • 2½ pounds chicken breast, boneless and skinless cut into 1/2 inch pieces
    • ½ cup corn starch
    • 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil

    Honey Garlic Sauce

    • 1 cup water
    • ⅓ cup soy sauce
    • ⅓ cup honey
    • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
    • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced

    Slurry

    • 2 tablespoons corn starch
    • 2 tablespoons cold water

    Garnish - optional

    • Sesame seeds
    • Chives or green onion

RECIPE NOTES: You can add extra Sriracha or red crushed pepper flakes for a spicier flavor.

How to make honey garlic chicken bites:

    Make the Sauce:

In a little bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water until it's all blended, set aside. This mixture is a slurry which will thicken the sauce.

In a medium pot, mix together water, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, and minced garlic. Place the pot on medium heat and let it come to a boil, giving it a stir now and then. Turn the heat down to low and add the slurry mixture to the saucepan. Keep stirring until the sauce gets nice and thick.

    Cook the Chicken:

Place the chicken pieces into a large zip-top bag and add in the cornstarch. Seal it up and shake the bag until the chicken is well coated.

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil to the bottom. Place the chicken in a single layer and cook for a few minutes on each side until it's fully cooked. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan; you can either cook in batches or use two pans to make it quicker.

    Serve:

Once you are done cooking the chicken, add the sauce to the chicken and stir it until all the chciken pieces are coated. Add salt and pepper, if you think it needs it.

You can serve it on a bed of white rice and/or broccoly if you like. Top it off with some sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
