These delicious warm apples are perfect on their own as a side, snack, or dessert. They are extra good with a scoop of whipped cream or drizzled over ice cream. Plus, they elevate breakfast when added to yogurt, oatmeal, waffles, or pancakes. There are so many ways to enjoy these stovetop apples.

    Ingredients you will need:

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 apples* - peeled, cored, and diced
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
    • ⅓ cup maple syrup

*You can use any type of apple for this recipe. Some type of apples may release more juice than others but they will still work.

    Follow these simple directions:

Combine butter, apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a medium saucepan.

Cook over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes until the apples are super soft.

Mix in the syrup, and cook for another minute or two. Let cool slightly before serving. The mixture will thicken a bit as it cools.

Pour the apple topping over our warm apple pancakes, waffles, ice cream, oatmeal, and enjoy!

NOTE: The topping can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Do not freeze the apples, they might get all mushy and watery.
