If you haven't had a chance to taste it yet, it's all about those crunchy breaded shrimp mixed with walnuts and topped off with an amazing honey sauce. This recipe beats takeout any day!

    Ingredients for this Recipe:

    Candied Walnuts

    • ½ cup water
    • ¼ cup pure honey
    • ½ cup walnuts, whole or pieces

    Honey Sauce

    • ¼ cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon pure hone
    • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

    Fried Shrimp

    • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • ½ cup cornstarch
    • 2 cups oil for frying, vegetable oil or peanut oil
    • chopped green onions, optional for garnish

How to make Honey Walnut Shrimp:

In a small pot on medium heat, mix water and honey and bring it to a boil. Toss in the walnuts and let them simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring now and then to avoid burning. Once done, spread the honey-coated walnuts on a tray lined with parchment paper to cool off.

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, honey, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon juice, then set it aside. Heat some oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat (around 350 degrees).

In another medium bowl, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Dust them with cornstarch and give them a good toss to coat. Fry the shrimp until they turn golden brown, which should take about 3 minutes. Once cooked, take them out and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Mix the fried shrimp with the honey sauce, then sprinkle on the candied walnuts and garnish with green onions.

This dish goes great with white or brown rice, chow mein noodles, or steamed broccoli.
