Disneyland Resort Announces New Rides and Attractions

    2024-08-13

Disney is adding six new rides and attractions at Disneyland Resort, announced at the D23 fan convention by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro.

    • According to the D23 press release, a new Coco-themed ride is coming to Disney California Adventure (DCA) in 2026. Inspired by the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, it will take guests into the Land of the Dead with advanced audio-animatronics.
    • The new ride is likely to be located in the Paradise Gardens area, which already celebrates Central and South American cultures.
    • DCA is also getting a new land inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water, according to the D23 press release, and the upcoming movie Avatar: Fire and Ash. The centerpiece will be a thrilling water ride that brings the world of Pandora to life.
    • The new land will be built in the Hollywoodland area of DCA, but no specific timeline for construction was provided.
    • According to the D23 press release, Avengers Campus at DCA will be expanded, including the long-awaited Avengers Infinity Defense ride, where guests fight alongside Avengers to recover Stark technology from King Thanos.
    • A third ride, Stark Flight Lab, will be added to Avengers Campus, with Tony Stark (voiced by Robert Downey, Jr.) inviting guests to test new Avengers technology.
    • Disneyland Park will also see new additions, including a show called “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” debuting in 2025, featuring an audio-animatronic Walt Disney.
    • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open on November 15, and the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride will get a new storyline featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.
