KTLA is reporting that Disney California Adventure is set to close the Red Car Trolley attraction next year to make way for new construction in the Avengers Campus.

The Red Car Trolley, which according to KTLA reports, has been a fixture at the park since its debut in 2012, will cease operations in early 2025 to accommodate the expansion of the Marvel-themed area.

KTLA reports that the Red Car Trolley, modeled after the historic Pacific Electric Railway trolleys that once served Los Angeles, has provided guests with a calm ride through a recreated version of the city's streets. However, with the upcoming construction, which will involve the removal of the trolley's barn, space is being cleared for new attractions.

Disneyland recently unveiled plans to significantly expand the Avengers Campus, doubling its size. This expansion will introduce two new rides: Stark Flight Lab, where guests can step inside Iron Man's workshop, and Avengers Infinity Defense, where visitors will have the chance to battle Thanos. These additions were first announced at D23, Disney's fan event.

The exact date for the Red Car Trolley’s final run will be announced later this winter.

Halloween Time at the DISNEYLAND® Resort begins on August 23 and NOW is the time to start planning your vacation! From August 23 - October 31, 2024, you can enjoy frightfully delightful decor, holiday-themed ride overlays, specialty food and beverage offerings, limited-time entertainment and more… there’s spirited fun around every corner!
