TRAFFIC ALERT: westbound 15th Ave SW reduced to one lane for utility work
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KGAN) — Heads up if you travel west along 15th Avenue Southwest near Czech Village, a stretch of the road is reduced to one lane. Westbound traffic is reduced to one lane between 3rd Street and L Street underneath I-380. Construction workers are doing some utility work in that area.
Area transient with string of alleged thefts strikes again
An area transient that has been arrested numerous times in the last month on various charges has been taken into custody again after an alleged theft of alcohol. According to police, 41-year-old Porscha Curry was inside the CVS Pharmacy on Muscatine Avenue Monday morning and stole an item worth approximately $50. She returned Monday night and took several bottles of alcohol from the shelf. Curry reportedly made no effort to conceal her actions, and walked toward the exit without paying for any of the items.
