OMAHA, Neb. — As of Saturday morning, the Missouri River is expected to crest Saturday afternoon in the Omaha area after runoff frommultiple days of heavy rain upstream. Iowa City woman allegedly falsified records and neglected elder adult in her care
An Iowa City woman has been charged with dependent adult abuse and tampering with records after allegedly neglecting a woman in her care. According to the complaint filed by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, 32-year-old Jessica Greenwood of Bittersweet Court was working at a memory care facility February 12th into the 13th. One of the residents wandered off into the parking lot partially disrobed without shoes or socks for several hours, but Greenwood allegedly noted in the woman’s charts that she took the woman to the bathroom at 2am and at 5am. Security camera footage reportedly refutes Greenwood’s official record, and the woman wasn’t returned to the unit until approximately 6:42am.
Iowa City man accused of using stolen credit card at two convenience stores
An Iowa City man was arrested hours after allegedly using a stolen credit card at two convenience stores. Police say 68-year-old Darill Johnson of East Burlington Street used the card at Kum & Go downtown and spent over $50 on items just after 6:15am Wednesday. Less than 15 minutes later, Johnson reportedly went into the L&M Mighty Shop and spent over $140, paying for the merchandise with the stolen card.
