Tigard wants residents to weigh in about the type of features they would like to see for the future Bagan Park via an online survey .

The 8.25-acrce property is located on the east side of Southwest Greenburg Road and south of Southwest Shady Lane in Tigard.

To the north, the property shares a border with the Washington Square Hotel (previously a Shilo Inn), and a southern border with the Ash Creek Condominiums.

“This project involves the design, construction, and installation of a neighborhood park off of Greenburg Road in an underserved area that is lacking parks,” said an online post from the city of Tigard.

In a conceptual plan for the park, planners highlighted three dominant traits of the site including a small grove of mature deciduous trees, along with an open meadow and the Ash Creek stream corridor (with its accompanying pond and wetlands).

Keep in mind that because of all that water and wetlands, only about one acre of the site has been deemed developable, with planning officials saying it’s best suited for small group activities or passive recreation.

“Funding has become available through the 2019 Metro Parks and Open Space Bond, which will allow Tigard to complete a detailed design of the park. This means the park can be bid on and constructed in 2025-2026. The city of Tigard is working with GreenWorks to develop a design for the future neighborhood park,” according to Tigard city officials.

The property was purchased with a portion of the $17 million parks bond that Tigard voters approved in 2010.

The survey will remain active until July 22.
