    Inaugural Sherwood Music Fest set July 27 and 28 at Stella Olsen Park

    The first-ever, two-day Sherwood Music Fest is set for Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28, at Stella Olsen Memorial Park Amphitheater.

    “With an exciting lineup of 10 bands ready to perform, attendees can expect a diverse range of music genres that will appeal to all ages and tastes,” said a statement from Florian Raqueño Productions, the company putting on the event. “From rock and jazz to folk and blues, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The festival is dedicated to increasing accessibility to music and fostering a love for the arts within the community.”

    Performances are 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 26, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

    The family friendly Sherwood Music Fest stresses the idea of community and is offering a “welcoming atmosphere where people of all ages can come together to enjoy live performances.”

    Featured acts include:

    Ben Rice & the PDX Hustle: Traditional blues, soul, R&B, folk and country. Last year, Rice added horns, vocal harmonies, piano and organ to his lineup to create Ben Rice & The PDX Hustle.UnPause: High-energy rock ‘n’ roll with a heavy Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and blues influence. Covers from the 1970s through the 1990s and beyond.REMEDY: A five-piece, high-energy rock performance dance band, playing dance songs from the 1970s through the 1990s.Fenix Rising: Original music and cover band that includes rock fusion with elements of classic rock, metal, jazz and theater.Fortunate Gold: Two in one. Neil Young and Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute bands Harvest Gold and Fortunate Son.Countryside Ride: Traditional country and Western, honkytonk, hillbilly, Western swing and a bunch of other American roots music.Wheel In the Sky: A Journey tribute band.Andrew Matthews Band: An exciting blues rock power trio based in Portland.Five Guys named Moe: A high-energy 12-piece horn-driven show bandSon de Cuba: A septet created by musicians from Chile, Mexico, the United States and Cuba.

    In 2022 and 2023, Florian Raqueño Productions and Tigard’s Beach Hut Deli sponsored the Tigard Music Fest in Downtown Tigard.

    In addition to the Sherwood Music Fest, don’t forget that the city’s popular annual Music on the Green concert series continues throughout the summer also at Stella Olsen Memorial Park Amphitheatre.

    Featured on Wednesday, July 24, is SABROSO, performing its brand of Latin and funk music. They will be followed on Wednesday, July 31 by Cloverdale, a country band.

    The summer series ends on Wednesday. Aug. 7, with a performance by Infamous Soul, a classic rock and dance band. All performances run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
