Inman, SC, fire chief describes battle with house fire likely struck by lightning
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Inman's fire chief said the combination of heat from the weather and fire made for a long battle to get yesterday’s house fire under control. The fire at the home on Inman Road happened in the middle of a lightning storm, just after 4:30 p.m. Fire Chief Chris Cothran said the homeowner called saying he smelled smoke in the home and then he saw the fire upstairs.
