UPDATE: Pilot Killed After Plane Crashes into Tred Avon River Near Easton
EASTON, MD - The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have confirmed to WBOC a plane has crashed near Easton Tuesday morning. The FAA says a twin-engine Cessna 402 crashed into the Tred Avon River around 9:30 a.m. on July 16th after the pilot reported engine failure. The pilot was the only person on board, according to the FAA.

1 dead after plane crashes into Maryland river
One person is dead after a small plane crashed into a river in Talbot County, Maryland, shortly before 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Maryland state police said. The man who died was the pilot of a twin-engine Cessna that took off shortly before 9 a.m. from Tipton Airport in Fort Meade, Maryland, authorities said. No one else was aboard.
Mechanicsville Man Charged With Multiple Counts Of Theft
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. – On June 21, 2024, Albert Steven Cherrico of Mechanicsville was formally charged by the District Court of Maryland for Saint Mary’s County with multiple counts of theft. Cherrico, 66, faces charges of theft between $100 and $1,500 following a series of incidents at a local ACE Hardware store in Charlotte Hall.
A Tribute to Former Public Printer Michael DiMario
Michael F. DiMario, former head of the U.S. Government Publishing Office, passed away on July 5th in Annapolis, Maryland, at the age of 87. On November 22, 2002, as Mr. DiMario prepared to leave his post as the 23rd Public Printer of the United States, Congressman Steny Hoyer of Maryland presented a tribute to Mr. DiMario before Congress.
