Raccoon Found in Davidsonville Tests Positive for Rabies 7-17-24
RABIES ALERT – July 17, 2024 – The Anne Arundel County Department of Health is seeking anyone who may have come in contact with a raccoon in Davidsonville on Governer's Bridge Road, between Riva Road and St. George Barber Road. The raccoon, which was found on July 15, has tested positive for rabies.

2:25 p.m. UPDATE: Maryland State Police say Tuesday’s plane crash in Easton was fatal. Just after 9:30 a.m., troopers were called to the 6800 block of Travelers Rest Circle for a reported small plane crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a twin-engine Cessna took off shortly before 9 a.m. from Tipton Airport at Fort Meade before crashing into the Tred Avon River. Police say they believe the plane was headed towards Easton Airport when it crashed.

The pilot of a small plane died Tuesday morning after an engine failure caused the aircraft to crash into a river on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, authorities said. The twin-engine Cessna 402 crashed into the water near Easton around 9:30 a.m. after the pilot reported engine failure, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement. The pilot was the only person aboard and has been identified as 56-year-old Robert Eugene Merlini of Annapolis.
