Early on the morning of July 19, a Glen Burnie neighborhood was alerted to a potential thief in their midst. According to a post by the Anne Arundel County Police Department, at around 4:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person trying to enter vehicles along Ridgely Road and Old Stage Road. The individual, later identified as Julian Christopher Wise, a 35-year-old man from Edgewater, Maryland, attempted to flee on foot upon the arrival of law enforcement.

SMECO Mails Board Ballots, Meeting Notice
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has mailed annual meeting ballots and notices to all SMECO members. Many members will also receive an email. To be eligible for prizes, submit the completed ballot online or by mail. If you are one of the lucky winners, SMECO will credit $50 to your electric bill. Sewage Spills into Bay Street Ponds in Easton
EASTON, MD. - People are being asked to take caution near several waterways in Easton after a sewage spill. The Easton Utilities Commission says about 6,000 gallons of untreated wastewater overflowed into the ponds on Bay Street.
