Daily lineups announced for Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival
Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival has announced its daily lineups, which include 14 bands across two alternating stages with no overlapping music, so no FOMO!. The festival takes place Sept. 21 and 22 at Sandy Point State Park and highlights regional and national bluegrass, jamgrass, funkgrass, and Americana music. There are lots of other activities, including interactive workshops, beachside yoga, yard games, children’s activities in the KidZone, and shopping from local craft vendors.

The closed session was held at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay and was, in the words of Mayor Steve Rideout, “an interesting meeting.” This was necessitated by the departure in May of City Manager Tom Carroll, whose position has been held on a temporary basis by David Deutsch.

Mobile Home Fire in Talbot County–Accidental
A mobile home fire that occurred late yesterday afternoon on Schockley Lane in Cordova, Talbot County has been ruled accidental. According to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire was due to a mechanical and electrical failure in the water pump. The American Red Cross was notified of the fire to assist with the occupants. The estimated monetary loss of structure and contents is to be at $100,000.

Talbot County Garden Club hosted a lemonade social at Scotts United Methodist Church in Trappe on June 16 to celebrate the success of the 2024 Talbot County Tour of the Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage. Dedicated to the restoration and preservation of historic properties, the May 11 Tour drew more than 2,000 “pilgrims” to seven outstanding private properties. Tour proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships – greatly amplified by service providers’ discounts and donations – will cover major infrastructure projects at two historic churches in Trappe: Scotts and St. Paul’s Episcopal on Main Street and brick ruins from the related old White Marsh Church on Almshouse Road and Route 50.

EASTON — Officials with the Maryland State Police confirmed the pilot of a small aircraft that crashed into the Tred Avon River near Easton Tuesday morning was killed in the incident.
