BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Four Navy athletes earned 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America honors for their respective athletic and academic endeavors this past season. Senior Braden Presser earned CSC First-Team honors after his successful season in the javelin, while carrying a 3.94 cumulative GPA as a mathematics major. The Mids earned three women’s track and field/cross country honorees. Patriot League Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year Annie Taylor (4.00 GPA | Mathematics) earned first-team honors, while teammates Ellie Abraham (3.81 GPA | History) and McKenna Brophy (3.97 GPA | Ocean Engineering) garnered second-team honors.

Pilot dies after small plane crashes in Md. town, police say
A pilot died after a small plane that took off from Tipton Airport in Fort Meade crashed into a river in Easton on Tuesday morning, Maryland State Police said. The plane took off shortly before 9 a.m. and crashed into the Tred Avon River about 40 minutes later near the 6800 block of Travelers Rest Circle. Authorities believe the pilot was headed toward Easton Airport.

FATAL: Divers Recover Victim after Small Plane Crashes into a River in Talbot County, Maryland
EASTON, MD (July 16, 2024) – Maryland State Police (MSP) responded to a fatal plane crash that occurred this morning in Talbot County. The identity of the deceased victim is pending next of kin notification. The victim was recovered from the water and transported to the shore where EMS personnel declared the victim deceased at the scene. The victim will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.
