Two killed, five injured in crash north of Dauphin Island
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — According to Mobile Police, a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:56 p.m. Monday, July 22, has claimed two lives. Mary R. Hawkins, 61, of Mobile, was fatally injured when the 2014 Lexus ES-350 she was driving collided head-on with the 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Austin L. Ross, 33, of Conway, Ark. Hawkins was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 6-year-old juvenile passenger in the GMC was injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. Ross and another passenger in the GMC, Laura L. Ramirez, 40, of Conway, Ark ., were both injured and transported to USA Hospital in Mobile.

University of Mobile graduates its 1st class from DNAP program
The University of Mobile (Ala.) celebrated its first graduates of its doctor of nurse anesthesia practice program, according to a July 22 report in The Baptist Paper. The graduation ceremony was held on the UM’s campus on July 13. Todd Hicks, executive dean of the College of Health Professions and professor of nurse anesthesiology congratulated the 12-person class as the founding dean of UM’s DNAP program.
