127TH ANNUAL HARVEST PICNINC IN WINDSOR TOMORROW
(WINDSOR) Activities get started tomorrow at the 127th Annual Harvest Picnic in Windsor. It’s pork chop dinners served at 4:00 Thursday afternoon with an Ice Cream Social at the Methodist Church at 5:00, and music by the Family Worship Band from 6:30 to 8:30. It’s fish dinners & homemade desserts served at 5:00 on Friday with music by The Lovin’ Spoonful at 7:15. Then it’s the FFA breakfast Saturday morning from 6:00 to 10:00, a harvest 5K run & fun walk at 7:30, pedal tractor pull at 10:00, the big parade at 3:00, pork chop dinners and desserts served at 4:30, the Bellamy Brothers in concert at 7:00, and the huge raffle drawing at 9:00. All concerts are free, bring your lawn chairs, with inflatables and much more.
U of I Extension offering Master Gardener fall training
August 14, 2024 -The U of I Extension Master Gardeners are offering fall training opportunities beginning in September. Master Gardeners are volunteers who provide unbiased, research-based information after completing classes taught by University of Illinois specialists and Extension Educators. Illinois Extension Master Gardeners host educational programs in the community, respond to calls or emails from the public, maintain demonstration gardens, and donate food from community gardens.

Blue Spoon to return food truck style
DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A local brunch favorite, Blue Spoon, may be returning to Decatur. The Blue Spoon initially closed in July of 2018. Last winter, the owners were in the process of opening a new location. However, on a social media post, they said, "During a moment of clarity, the memories and realization of rising costs, employees, and numerous hoops that come with a full service, brick-and-mortar business hit me like a truck." This realization led the owners to come back in a food truck or trailer.
